I'm pretty sure that it would be recognisable as a You Am I record. Obviously people will be able to pick up straight away that there's a lot of Tim's [Rogers, vocals] personality in there," explains guitarist Davey Lane, regarding the band's latest release 'Dilettantes'. "More than anything that we've done before, it is definitely a band record, and we all kind of helped each other out from the embryonic stages of songs. I guess you might be able pick up on that."
Every once in a while, you'll pick up an album by a band that you know nothing about apart from the rather excitable set of influences mentioned in their press release. You'll take it home, put it in your stereo, and press play, only to be picking your jaw up off of the floor several seconds later, amazed at how good it is. It's a rare occurrence, to be sure, but thankfully 'Escaping Mankind' is one such album, and Sydney's Charge Group are sure to be a band to watch out for.
