Riot Entertainment have secured distribution rights for the live CD/DVD entitled 'Live From Radio City Music Hall' and will be released soon after their Australian tour finishes. The CD was recorded on 30 May 2007 at their sold out show at New York's famous Radio City Music Hall and includes such Dio era Sabbath classic's as Mob Rules, Die Young, Neon Knights, Children Of The Sea and of course Heaven And Hell. The DVD will feature additional bonus material and coincides with a double CD.

For those who like their horror movies, as well as their metal, it might be worth checking out The Hills Have Eyes 2 when it releases in Australia. The movie soundtrack is to include 'Throwing Stones' from The End's new CD 'Elementary' as well as feature other great metal likes like The Dillinger Escape Plan, As I Lay Dying, Shadows Fall and Atreyu.
For those into their power metal, make sure you check out new band Ride The Sky with the debut 'New Protection' available in August. The band features members/ex-members of Helloween, Gamma Ray and Masterplan, including Uli Kusch. Together the members have racked up a whopping seventy albums between them - now that's some experience.
Blood Red Throne (featuring Tchort, and best known for Carpathian Forest, Green Carnation and a stint in Emperor) will soon release their new album, entitled 'Come Death', out on Earache.
Manowar have just released another live CD, 'Gods Of War Live'. 'Another live Manowar album?' I hear you all cry. Well yes, this is approximately their sixteenth billion live album but we do so love the band, plus this new one is to feature not only material from both their 'Warriors Of The World' album and a 35 minute encore of songs from 'Gods Of War', but the double CD - recently performed in front of their largest audience ever during the German leg of the 'Demons, Dragons And Warriors' 2007 tour - is also meant to include a few rare tracks. Don't forget their latest album 'Gods Of War' is also currently available and highly recommended by this journo.
Speaking of live albums - must be the season for them - Motorhead have released 'Live At Hammersmith' via SPV. Recorded at Hammersmith Odeon in 2005, the album contains such classics as Bomber, Ace of Spades, Overkill, Sacrifice and Iron Fist.
Italian power metallers, Rhapsody Of Fire (formerly known just as Rhapsody) have celebrated their 10th anniversary by releasing a brand new DVD, 'Visions From The Enchanted Lands', which features live material, studio work, rehearsals and daily tour business. We know how visually orientated this band are so this is sure to be something special.
We mentioned last week about Municipal Waste and their soon to be notorious music video. Well, the band has also just been featured in one of Britain's most mainstream rags, NME, as part of a 'Thrash Revival'.
Germany's AFM Records (known for their love of power metal bands) have just signed popular German band Sinner. A new album, tentatively titled 'Crash And Burn' is due to be released sometime in 2008.
And on the live front, October seems to be a busy one. Along with the mighty Marduk, Pelican are due to tour Australia along with The Stockholm Syndrome as support. Unfortunately they only have three dates lined up which does not include Adelaide. But if you are in Brisbane (3rd), Melbourne (5th) or Sydney (4th) make sure you check them out.
And if the exciting news of a new Motorhead live album, mentioned above, does not excite you enough, you can catch the real thing at Thebarton Theatre on 13 October. Support will include Aussie hard rock band Rose Tattoo. Let's just hope me mum lets me out for that one.
